Put your roof to work.
With solar electricity.

Solar panels turn daylight into electricity for your home. Explore what could suit your roof, how you use energy and whether a battery belongs in the plan.

A brighter idea starts with a conversation.

  • Your roof considered first
  • Your energy use in view
  • Clear next steps

Make electricity where you live.

The starting point is your home and daily routine. A useful solar plan considers both the electricity a roof could generate and when you are likely to use it.

Power everyday life

Solar electricity can supply appliances while your panels are generating.

Think beyond daytime

A compatible battery can store some solar electricity to use later.

Plan the home together

Tell us about future changes, from an electric car to a heat pump, so they can be considered from the start.

Solar on its own, or part of a wider plan.

You do not need to decide on every piece of equipment before getting in touch. Start with what matters to you and what is already in your home.

Solar PV

Explore a panel system around the roof space available and the way your household uses electricity.

Solar with a battery

Consider generation and storage together, including space for the equipment and the amount of energy you want to use later.

Solar and EV charging

If you have an electric car, include your parking, charging routine and charger compatibility in the conversation.

No package is selected from a postcode alone. Equipment, expected generation and installation scope need a property-specific assessment.

From an idea to a considered plan.

Email is the first step for now. Availability and the route to a survey or proposal will be confirmed before you make a commitment.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your home

Share your postcode, property type and what you hope to achieve.

  2. 02

    Bring the useful details

Roof photos and a recent electricity bill can help a later discussion. There is no need to send sensitive account details.

  3. 03

    Check the property

Any design needs the roof, shading, equipment positions and electrical connection assessed.

  4. 04

    Understand the proposal

Before proceeding, the equipment, installation scope, expected generation and price should be clear.

A roof is more than a panel count.

Direction, shading and the roof itself affect the design. Photos can help start a discussion; a final design needs the relevant checks at your property.

  • Roof direction, pitch and usable space
  • Shading from trees and nearby buildings
  • Roof condition and suitability for the installation
  • Household electricity use and future plans
  • Inverter position, cable routes and safe access
  • Electrical connection and any permissions needed

Could a battery belong in the plan?

Generation and use do not always happen at the same time. Explore storage alongside solar, with the battery size, position and controls considered together.

Explore battery storage

Before you begin.

The honest answer matters more than the quickest one.

Do solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes. Panels can generate electricity from daylight even when it is cloudy, although their output varies with the conditions. A home-specific assessment is needed to estimate generation.

Does my roof have to face south?

South-facing roofs generally offer the strongest generation potential, but direction is only one factor. Roof angle, shading and usable space also matter. Share the details of your roof before ruling it in or out.

Do I need a battery with solar panels?

No. Solar panels can work without a battery. Storage is a separate option to consider if you want to keep some generated electricity for later use.

Can I get a solar quote online?

The online planner is coming soon. Email Vireo to discuss your interest, availability and next steps. A final proposal needs the property and installation requirements reviewed.
